Senior Final: Kitty Bitties

This is my photoshop project for my senior final. I was supposed to make a cereal box design so I edited the Frosted Flakes box. I used a picture of Tony the tiger for the background layer. I used a polygonal lasso tool to cut out the cereal bowl and the other cat. I used the blur and smudge tools to help blend the pictures together. The clone stamp tool was used to fill in any white spots with blue. The whole grain bar thing I cut out using the polygonal lasso from another box and moved it to this box. I edited the text to it would pop out and also added a drop shadow to the smaller cat. The small cat I changed the brightness and contrast to it. I hope you enjoy your box of Kitty Bitties!

Spring Has Arrived

This is something I created using picmonkey.com. I was inspired by the soon to be Spring-like weather that's going to be coming this weekend. Also I noticed the green leaves that have started to grow back on the trees.

The Sam and Ha-Vy Advetures

This is just another creative photoshop project we were supposed to do in class. I photoshopped my friend and myself into the picture. Next I photoshopped the head of some type of cat to the body of a fox and tried the best I could to blend it together using the blur and smudge tool.

World War Z Movie Trailer

This is a movie trailer I made with some people in my class because we had to make a movie trailer of a book that turned into a movie and we chose World War Z. This movie is about a zombie apocalypse and the race to find a solution before the whole human race falls. For this project I used Windows Movie Maker like I did with my silent film. The film is what we filmed in class one day with my group and I also added still pictures.

Dogs Threw Me Out of Business

This is a silent movie that I did with Windows Movie Maker. I added text and audio to the movie.

Ribbett Collage

This is a collage I made on a website called Ribbett.com. You just upload pictures and you can do all sorts of different editing to your photos and when you click done you can add text and other things too. Going from left to right, the third picture I added text that says Reality. I also used two pictures of one of my favorite animes Karneval.

Pictures in My Name

This is something that I did in class for photoshop. It was my name and then we pasted pictures into the letters. I also edited the font to make the letters pop out a bit and added the nice background scenery to it.

Thinklink

I used a website called Thinklink.com and it is a really fun and easy place to share different kinds of information instead of doing just a powerpoint. You can add videos, write text, and show pictures and probably do other things but I haven't gone too deeply into it today. This is one about the Russian Blue cats that I made.

Jedi Masters

This is our most recent Photoshop project that we did in class. We turned meter sticks into light sabers in photoshop, added a glow to it, and added some text. To make it glow we used the Gaussian blur in the Filters on four different layers and used the color adjustment to add color. This is my buddy Sam and me.

Photo Story

This is a video I made using Photo Story 3 for Windows. The music in the background is one I made using the Sony ACID Music Studio to mix some music and sounds together. I went to Google to find the images and put them in and edited them a little bit in Photo Story. I hope you enjoy the finished video!

Storybird: Families

I created a story on storybird.com for a first grader. This story is about different animals and their families.

Golden Gate Coyote

This is another Photoshop project that I did. I changed the sky color to a pretty purple and used the polygonal lasso tool to cut out the coyote. As you can see in the thought bubble that I put in using the elliptical marquee tool, this coyote is thinking about some sail boats!

Colored Photoshop Projects

We started a Photoshop project yesterday with restoring the original color to the picture by making a copy layer and using a mask like the kitten picture above. As you can see I brought the original color of the cat and yellow flowers back.

For the second colored project I desaturated the picture then added color to it by using the color replacement tool and chose the colors I wanted to use. Doing both of these projects was really fun.

Quizlet Test

I took a test over the elements of design and I got 100%. I got this "A" because I know the seven elements of design that we needed to study and I'm also a pretty smart cookie.

Karneval Jigsaw Puzzle

This is one of the things I made using the website bighugelabs.com. When you use Big Huge Labs you can make all sorts of things like movie posters, calenders, a pocket sized photo album, and more. It is really easy to use because all you have to do is upload pictures. This is one of my favorite animes called Karneval and it only has one season so far but I am hoping for a second and the manga is still on going. My fingers are crossed!

Under The Sea

We started on our first Photoshop project "Under The Sea". Cutting out all the different images to put into the picture was tedious work using the quick selection and polygonal lasso tool but I was not a big fan of using the magic wand tool to cut out anything. I like using Photoshop but you just have to be patient with it. Just saying I love the cat in the corner since we had to put something funny in.

Cool Text

In class today we used a website called cooltext.com to make logos using our name. There are many different styles and text to use. This is a good website to make an impressive logo without a lot of work and it is easy too.

Happy Valentine's Day

In class we made Valentines on picmonkey.com. Some of the things on there are interesting like I found that cat in the middle of the heart. This would be a fun thing to do in my free time. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Google's Ray Kurzweil predicts the future

Today in class we read an article about Ray Kurzweil and what he predicts will happen in the future and what had already happened. It was an interesting article and the one that I found most interesting was that in the year 2023 there might be full-immersion in virtual reality. Basically a brief summary would be that nanobots or some kind of small device will stimulate your capillaries and brain so that you can feel like you are actually in the game. I think this would be pretty cool.

Bomomo

We used a website called bomomo.com to do some art stuff. Once you get the hang of things I bet you could make some really cool stuff. I obviously have not gotten the hang of it but I do like some of the colors.

~QR Codes~

The purple QR Code goes to DeviantArt. It's an art website where people post things they create from drawings to digital media, cosplays to nail art, etc. All sorts of artistic stuff.

The blue QR Code goes to Pintrest. A huge way to waste time and find funny and interesting things.

The green QR Code goes to mangago.com. One of the websites I go to read English scanlated (scanned and translated) mangas.

Kitten Voki

Google Glasses?

We watched a few short videos in class about the Google Glasses. I personally don't care for them and might actually find it to be a distraction. Sure it can do cool things like take pictures and give you directions but in the parody we watched what if there were just a bunch of ads popping up as you used it? Also the fact that some of it responds to your voice, I think the thought that it would look like I was talking to myself would be a good enough reason for me not to get it. Then again I'm an introvert. It's a good idea but I would be annoyed with them.

Treble Tagxedo

I created this on Tagxedo and I like using this better then Wordle because you can do more and make the words into shapes. Since I love listening to music and I am in choir I decided to do this treble clef. The words that I used are some terms that we use in choir class.

Blockbuster Snippet

In class we watched a little snippet on Youtube about a historical Blockbuster tour. How fantastic since Blockbuster is going out of business. You know back in those tough times when you have to actually go out to rent a movie then return it, the horror!  That guy who was supposed play a cashier who was working from this time to that time seemed like he was working very hard.

My Wordle

The original quote that I used was one I found on Pintrest a while back about all the different evolution of  the Pokemon eevee. I just borrowed a small little section of it and I like the way it has a loving Valentine's Day feel to it.

Google Doodle

A Google Doodle is a picture that changes every-so-often for a certain event or just for fun. I chose this one because I liked the floral design around the tiger. I also like the position of the tiger and the overall style of the art. I think it's cool how in the background it splits with the left side being white and the white is green. It reminds me of the yin yang symbol.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Ha-Vy Nguyen and I love to play video games. One of my favorite series is the Fire Emblem games. I also enjoy drawing animals, original character anime characters, and fan-art from many different books and games. I like to sing and I've been in a choir for about seven years of my entire school career. I recently got four calico fantail goldfish as my first pets. I'm an animal lover and my favorite animal is the cheetah, but I love all cats. I am also an only child.
